trial advo boredom

i am incredibly incredibly bored so i am blogging during lecture even though some part of me is telling me that eventually i will regret not listening to llt about how to prepare for a trial and how to develop a case theory. but that part is being drowned out by the dominant part of me that is just screaming OMG FIND SOMETHING MORE INTERESTING TO DO. so i shall.

ok i think i had a v nice week last week so i shall just preserve it here for posterity. my weekend basically started on wednesday haha since my tutorials are on tuesday and wednesday, so once prop ends on wednesday it really feels as if i have nothing else to do for the rest of the week!

so on wednesday after prop, me xunny shuyu and alphis happily skipped off to marina sq for carls junior, to avoid eating lousy summit food. we ended up sitting there and talking for hours, as if we had nothing waiting to be done. and that was just the beginning!

thursday was blissful because clt got cancelled. haha. our ambitious kbox plans were shelved though, but me and xunny's insistence on having an 'excite' day paid off in the end. so after company lecture, me jiexuan xunny benson and yonghui ran off, first to cathay basement for food, then off to mind cafe @ dhoby ghaut. ok fine i feel v loser cos that was actually my very first time going to mind. but anyway! i don't even remember the names of the games we played, but what we all remember is the war of attrition that started between yonghui+xunny and benson. hahaha. where yonghui killed benson and xunny looted his dead body. then they subsequently spent the rest of the game fearing for their lives and their property. haha. mag and alvin joined us after their rawkrubz meeting and we played even more stupid games like snortah. haha. "you're a moo!" then we discovered the game where you tell a story and other people bet on whether it's true or false. haha. which could be potentially very enlightening, if only people would tell interesting stories -grin- we should play again sometime.

at 6 the happy hour ran out and jiexuan/alvin/yonghui/benson vee-ed. so the remaining 3 of us slouched off to cathay where we spent a very happy 2 hours and $13.80 on a ben&jerrys mix-n-match with phish food, chocolate chip cookie dough, and new york super fudge chunk. haha. we got excited over rollercoasters and sunway lagoon and holidays, and worried over what would happen at gotham since kenneth sounded like batman with his mask on. at about 8.30 we decided it was time for dinner and went to mos at ps, fully confident in our 'perfect timing' that would allow us to arrive at clarke quay at 9.30sharp for ukbound2008.

yeah ok that obviously didn't happen haha we were totally optimistic and overestimated our ability to eat/walk quickly. but it's all good cos when we arrived at gotham and met zhizhi/bryan it hadn't even started yet! we spent like 10 minutes in the queue, meeting old friends from our raffles days, zhizhi won the award for 'most-guy-friends' and we wondered what would happen since kenneth was at home. once we got in and the competition started, we became the most owning groupies ever, what with our screaming and cheering for ragamuff, the band without a lead vocalist. haha. and the most awesome thing was that they actually won! so obviously after that we had to celebrate with supper. but for some strange unfathomable reason all the eating places around clarke quay were closed! so we ended up in my all-time favourite (not really) place, upper bkt timah haha. ended up getting home at 2am, which might not have been a great idea considering it was a thursday night. but ohwell see it was an exciting week.

and friday was exciting too! instead of going back to rj to see the teachers, me angie trix and samjo met for brunch at toast, where i had a yummy breakfast set with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato and toast. and coffee of course, without which i would have been a total zombie the rest of the day. we spent an immensely enjoyable 2 hours plus reminiscing about old days, catching up on gossip, and concluding that a certain member of the male species was scum and totally undeserving. haha. i love how even after more than a year, i can just sit down with 1a people and talk about anything in the world and it just never feels weird. (=

at about 1230 i rushed off to go to sch for pro bono meeting, then fcg, then lecture. then came along one of my favourite parts of the week - dance! casino was confusing but fun, and ben has now been tasked with calling the circle this week so that should be pretty funny haha he and alvin were also ordered to practice calling, and we all got muggernotes to study. haha. over dinner we discovered that ben wanted to be an f1 grid girl. salsa was fun too, and after that during fiesta we ended up forming a rueda circle and dancing alot! i love. haha. especially since i got to dance with alvin's brother-in-law, who i maintain is v v cool. but ok nevermind. haha.

saturday marked the first weekend day i spent in school this semester. i found out that malay houses on stilts are chattels and not property. and a few other things about property which i was probably supposed to know already but i didn't actually. the rain decided to stop in time for me and shups to get down to city hall, where we managed to locate alvin despite the huge crowds going to comex. then we found jiexuan at the body shop and off we went to the esplanade for disco rock!

the rehearsal studio at the esplanade is GORGEOUS. like seriously, it's huge and airy and one entire side is a window so you get to look out! and the floor is lovely and smooth and great to spin on haha. and the staircase leading up to it has pretty multi-coloured banisters. haha but ok anyway. disco rock itself was not bad. it turned out to be a partner dance, contrary to our john-travolta-ish impressions. the teacher was nice and fun, but i guess what we learned was actually pretty basic and we could've covered it in 15 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. ohwell but not bad lah it was good fun! i want to go for another class just to go to the studio again. heh. salsa hiphop anyone?

so that was saturday. sunday was a happy waste of time where i just nua-ed alot and slept alot. until nighttime when i ended up getting a lift to the airport from devathas instead of driving myself. haha. we made a huge detour to kovan to pick elly up, then we went off to the airport to see huahua off! met alot alot of people at the airport, like trish/geri/gn etc. huahua had the biggest entourage lah haha so popular rightttt. there was me, elly, devathas, angie, hulin! huahua you better be grateful ok. it's so sad how everyone's leaving alr hrm. come back soon ok!!

and YES LECTURE IS OVER I HAVE SURVIVED goodbye! =D
